YMCA, Wichita celebrating 3,000th Late Night kid

At 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Y on S Meridian

WICHITA, Kan. -
The City of Wichita and the YMCA are celebrating the 3000th high school student joining the YMCA Late Night program that aims to keep teenagers off the street.
 
Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay, state lawmakers, and Mayor Jeff Longwell will speak at the celebration Saturday night.
 
The event starts at 8:30 Saturday, August 12 at the YMCA at 3405 S Meridian.
 

 

The YMCA says it partnered with the police to create a safe place for teenagers to go to avoid drugs, alcohol, gangs and crime.
