Suspect on the run after fatal Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. – A man wanted for a Wichita murder has been on the run since July.

25-year-old Juan Carlos Caballeros-Yescas is charged with fatally shooting his estranged wife, 41-year-old Lucy Mojica.

On July 7, Mojica was found in a home at 17th and Arkansas, with several gunshot wounds. She was rushed to a hospital but passed away.

Caballeros-Yescas was believed to have fled the state, but he reportedly robbed someone he knew later that day. Caballeros-Yescas has not been seen since, and it’s believed he had been headed to either Texas or Mexico.

Caballeros-Yescas was last seen driving a 2010 Volkswagen Beetle with a Minnesota license tag of 119-TDG. He has warrants for first degree murder, aggravated burglary, and three counts of aggravated assault.
