Newman University has canceled classes for the day.
A text message sent to students reportedly read the closure was due to an “unsubstantiated threat.” The university says activities at the school will now be allowed to continue for this evening, including the performance of “Mamma Mia.” However, students should check with their coaches or faculty member about practices or other activities.
