Wichita Police say a woman was seriously hurt in a shooting south of downtown Wichita overnight.
Officer Charley Davidson said officers responded to a shooting call at a home in the 900 block of S Market at around 2:50 a.m. Saturday and found a 54-year-old woman who had been shot. Emergency crews took the woman to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to her upper body, and Officer Davidson said the woman’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
Police said the woman is not cooperating with investigators, and anyone who may know anything about the shooting is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 316-267-2111 or Wichita Police detectives at 316-268-4407.

One person is hurt after reports of a shooting just south of downtown Wichita overnight.
A supervisor with Sedgwick County Emergency Dispatch said one person had serious injuries after the shooting reported in the 900 block of south Market, near Indianapolis Street, just before 3 a.m. Saturday.
Police have not yet given any details about the shooting report.
