The Sedgwick County sheriff’s office has lowered the age requirement for detention deputies. People 18 years and older will be eligible to apply for the position.
In a press release, the sheriff’s office said the decision was made to expand the hiring pool. Applicants will have to pass a written test, a physical test, a drug test, polygraph and a background check.
The previous age requirement was 21.
