Fire department battles warehouse blaze Friday night in Park City

Fire department battles warehouse blaze Friday night in Park City

Update Saturday 12:28 p.m. 

No one was hurt in a Park City fire that sent the smell of burning tires all the way into Old Town Wichita Friday night. A Sedgwick County Fire Captain says the warehouse fire in the 5800 block of North Prospect caused $1.6 million in damages. Semi-trucks and electrical equipment were housed in the 28,000 square foot warehouse. The fire was reported around 9:00 p.m. Friday and crews remained on scene to battle the blaze into the night.

Developing: 

Sedgwick County firefighters battled a large warehouse blaze Friday night in Park City. The fire was first reported around 9:00 p.m. As of 10:00 p.m. Friday night, firefighters were still working on the blaze near 59th and Broadway. Westar Energy had turned off power to the warehouse by 10:15 p.m. and gas was shut off as well. KFDI News received reports of the smoke from the fire being seen in Wichita. There was also a report of a burnt tire smell wafting all the way into Old Town.
