An event center east of downtown Wichita will have its last event in July. The owners of Abode Venue have decided to close the facility at 1330 East Douglas, with the last event to be held on July 31st.
The announcement was made on the Abode Venue web site and its Facebook page. Transitions Group, Inc., an employee-owned company, said it made a strategic decision to close Abode and focus on its core businesses in seven Midwestern states.
Abode has been open since 2010, and it has provided space and facilities for parties and special events. It will continue to book events through the end of July, and customers who have events booked after July 31st are urged to contact Abode for refunds. The owner of the building will be looking for a new tenant.
