A Haysville man has been sentenced to 71 years in prison in a 2017 rape case.
33-year-old Garon Spencer was convicted in December of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, and sexual battery. Spencer was accused of attacking a 68-year-old woman inside of her home on November 10 of 2017.
Judge Bruce Brown noted Spencer’s criminal history, including a juvenile conviction for aggravated criminal sodomy, and charges as an adult of aggravated assault, criminal threat, and misdemeanor sexual battery. Brown sentenced Spencer to 852 months in prison during a sentencing hearing Wednesday.
The case was investigated by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
