In newly released rankings, Wichita State’s graduate program in Engineering ranked in the top 100 in the nation. The 2020 rankings by the U.S. News and World Report are based on a number of factors including faculty resources, student selectivity, research expenditures, and reputation among peer institutions and industry leaders. Wichita State ranked 49th in the nation in research expenditures, far surpassing any other institution in the state. It was also one of only two Kansas universities to make the list and was tied with a number of state “flagship” universities including the University of Kansas, the University of Kentucky, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the University of South Carolina.
