The Visit Wichita convention and visitors bureau has announced that a men’s college wrestling championship will be held in 2020 and 2021 at Hartman Arena in Park City.
Visit Wichita won the bid to host the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) national championships in March of 2020 and again in 2021. The championship is moving from Des Moines, Iowa after a two-year run.
The championship event will have around 250 student-athletes involved in a 32-man, double elimination championship bracket at ten weight classes. The event draws more than 5,000 fans each year for the two-day event. The national championship in each weight class will be covered live on ESPN3.
