A 28-year-old man and 22-year-old woman are facing a murder charge after their 2-year-old son was found dead.
Wichita officers were called to a home around 11:30 Thursday night in the 4500 block of South Hydraulic. They were responding to reports of a domestic dispute that involved the man and woman leaving their home, with a 2-year-old and 4-month-old boy being left alone. The couple was contacted on their way back to the home and officers went inside to check on the kids.
The 2-year-old boy was found dead in a crib. He has been identified as Zaiden Javonovich. No information on a cause of death has been released so far.
Police say the 4-month-old boy needed medical treatment and was taken to a hospital, and there was no word on his condition.
Police said the parents were booked on charges of felony murder.
Investigators are still looking into this case. The District Attorney’s Office will be deciding on formal charges against the parents.
