Several people are hurt after a fireworks mortar exploded in front of a house.
Witnesses said someone threw a lit mortar shell over a fence Saturday near Broadway and Grand in Haysville when around 20 people were gathered, including children.
One woman had second degree burns from when the firework exploded on her cheek. She said she’s glad she took the brunt of it because there were so many children that could have been hurt worse. Police said that around eight people were hurt, ranging in age from two years to adult.
Anyone who was in the area or anyone who saw possible suspects leaving the area are urged to call Haysville police at 529-5912.
