An unidentified worker has died after coming into contact with power lines in a north Wichita neighborhood.
Police and emergency crews were called to the 1400 block of North Fairview around 11 a.m. Tuesday on a report of an electrocution. They found a worker in a bucket truck behind a home. Power had to be turned off to the area so crews could get to him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police spokesman Charley Davidson said the victim was a 53-year-old man who was working for a local tree-trimming company. He was trimming trees in an elevated bucket when he accidentally struck a power line.
