The Transportation Department at Derby Public Schools is sponsoring two “Try-it-Out” days for anyone interested in experiencing driving a bus. The district is currently seeking to fill bus driver positions prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. The purpose of the “Try-it-Out” days is to provide hands on experience and help people decide if driving a bus could be the right job for you. Bus driver trainers will be on site to speak with those interested in learning more about what driving a bus entails and will ride with the person while the bus is being operated. The Try-It-Out days will be held from 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9th and Thursday, July 11th at Panther Stadium in Derby. The stadium address is 925 E. Madison.
