Sedgwick County officials have a 37-year-old man in custody for a sexual assault on a child.
The man was the subject of a manhunt on July 5th after the crime was reported. Law enforcement officers were searching for the man in a cornfield near the 4200 block of West 89th Street North. The man was arrested the next morning at West Elementary School in Valley Center.
The sheriff’s office said the man is a registered violent offender. He was booked into jail for aggravated indecent liberties with a child and rape of a victim under the age of 14.
