A new wetlands park is opening in west Wichita at N Maize Road and 29th Street West. Once know as Cadillac Lake, the park was formerly used for duck hunting and farming by the Pracht family.  Now, the Pracht wetlands park will allow people to see migratory birds and a variety of other wildlife from boardwalks built around the park. A safe haven for migrating birds, deer, badgers, beavers, and a variety of other wildlife, the park is more of a nature center than an area to play. Currently, the park offers areas to observe wildlife, but they plan on expanding the boardwalks to a half-mile loop around the northern part of the park.
