Wichita city council members have approved a contract with a third company to provide electric scooters for use in downtown Wichita.
Slidr is a Florida-based company that plans to start with 150 scooters in the downtown area. The agreement is for a one-year pilot program to provide scooter rentals downtown and in Old Town.
The council previously approved one-year contracts with Veoride and Zagster, which plan to deploy 500 scooters each.
The council voted in June to allow rental of electric scooters, and an ordinance provides for regulations and safety requirements for the use of the scooters.
