Suspect arrested in April homicide in Wichita

A Valley Center man has been arrested for a fatal shooting that happened last spring in Wichita.

27-year-old Malcolm Norris was arrested in Texas with the help of the United States Marshal’s Service, and he has been booked into jail on a charge of first degree murder.

Wichita police were called to a report of gunshots on the evening of April 1st in the 1200 block of North Minnesota.  They found 23-year-old Marquez Hutton in front of a home, dead from a gunshot wound.    Police said it was not a random shooting.

Information was presented to the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office and Norris has been charged in the case.
