A crash involving two semi tractor-trailers forced the closing of a section of Interstate 70 in northeast Kansas early Friday. One of the semis was carrying military munitions and there was also a report of radiological, hazardous materials involved.
The crash was reported around 6 a.m. close to the Grandview Plaza exit near Junction City. Minor injuries were reported from the crash but the Kansas Highway Patrol closed traffic. Fort Riley was sending a replacement trailer for one of the semis.
Westbound lanes were closed at mile marker 298, but one lane was back open by early afternoon.
