Wichita Public Schools has announced that they will be implementing new Standards-Referenced Grading for elementary schools in the district.
The district says the new standards will provide more consistent grading across the district’s grade schools. The system is based on achievement and what a student show know and should be able to do at each grade level.
The previous system also factored in things like child behavior in determining their grades. The district has scheduled Question and Answer informational meeting for parents to attend to learn about the new system.
The first meeting takes place Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alvin Morris Administrative Center, located 903 S. Edgemoor.
