The new Naftzger Park that is under construction in downtown Wichita will include space along the east edge for outdoor dining and patio uses. The city council has approved an agreement with developers to provide for that space.
Jason Gregory with the group Downtown Wichita said the park will be an important link between downtown and the Old Town district. He said having restaurants with outdoor cafe seating along the east edge will add to the energy and vitality that Naftzger Park will bring to the area. Jon Rolph, president and CEO of Thrive Restaurant Group, said his company will create a new restaurant concept called Peace, Love and Pie, as well as a third location for its HomeGrown restaurant.
The redeveloped Naftzger Park is to be completed later this year.
