The city of Wichita says the East Kellogg expansion will be open to traffic later this week.
An opening ceremony is planned Thursday at 12:30 p.m. and two lanes of traffic will be open in both directions on Kellogg from Webb Road to K-96. The third lane will still be closed for shoulder work, and drivers will still see orange barrels and construction crews while that activity continues into the spring.
The city says the Webb Road portion of the project has been on schedule and the Greenwich Road project has been ahead of schedule. Left turns should be allowed at Kellogg and Webb Road starting the week of November 25th.
The speed limit will be 40 miles an hour for that section of East Kellogg while the construction work continues.
