Wichita man gets 13 years for robbing west side business

A Wichita man has been sentenced to 13 and a half years in federal prison for an armed robbery last spring.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said 26-year-old Camarin McPherson pleaded guilty to one count of robbery, and he admitted pointing a gun at a clerk at a Sprint store at 530 South West Street.   In that April 25th robbery, McPherson tied up the clerk and got away with 54 Apple iPhones and 24 Samsung Galaxy phones.

The case was prosecuted under the Project Safe Neighborhoods program, a Justice Department initiative to reduce violent crime.
