A new winter storm system is bringing snow to western Kansas for Wednesday afternoon, and snow is expected to fall in central and south central areas of the state during the night and into Thursday morning.
The heaviest snow is expected in western Kansas where amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible. South central Kansas and the Wichita area will see 1 to 2 inches.
Temperatures in the Wichita area will be in the mid-20s for Wednesday night and Thursday high will be 34.
Another weather system is moving in for the weekend, but temperatures will be warming into the 50s and the forecast calls for rain and some thunderstorms.
