The mother and daughter found fatally shot at a south Wichita home are identified as 25-year-old Mickayla Sorell and 8-year-old Natalia Sorell-Lopez.
Someone asked police to check on Mickayla after she didn’t show up for work on Monday. Officers went to her home in the 4500 block of South Walnut and found both victims Monday afternoon. It was later determined the two had been shot late Saturday.
Police are asking for any information that helps them find Sorell’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Daniel Lopez. A statement from police says he may be involved in the shooting. Information can be given directly to police by calling 911, or anonymous calls can be made to Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.
