Around 70% of eligible state workers will go back to work starting Monday.
However, they will be working remotely from home. It follows a two week suspension of operations that began on March 23. All government office buildings will remain closed until at least April 19.
“Our public employees perform critical functions that the people of Kansas depend on,” said Governor Kelly in a news release. “Their work must continue despite this ongoing crisis. This crisis has been unprecedented, but the state will deliver critical state services, even though the delivery of those services may look different than they have in the past.”
Qualifying employees will be contacted by their agency with information and instructions.
