Kansas corrections officials said Wednesday a staff member at the Wichita Work Release Facility has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The staff member is a man over the age of 40, but no other information has been released. Health officials are working to find people who may have had contact with the staff member.
A resident tested positive at the facility on April 12th, and another inmate tested positive later. Corrections officials moved close to 75 inmates from the Wichita facility to the Lansing Correctional Facility in late April so they could be put into isolation and monitored for symptoms.
There are seven correctional facilities in the state with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Cases have been confirmed at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility and the El Dorado Correctional Facility.
