Wichita man charged in violent protest

A Wichita man is facing 22 charges for shots that were fired during a protest in Wichita on June 1st.

28-year-old Henry Parker has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery of an officer, 19 counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, and a weapons charge.

Parker is accused of firing shots at officers during protest activity at 21st and Arkansas.  The protest led to the looting of a Quik Trip store.   No officers were hit but one officer’s helmet was hit by bullet fragments that had ricocheted near officers.

Another hearing in the case has been scheduled for June 25th.
