A policy went into effect this month that provides free lung cancer screenings to all Kansas Medicaid recipients who may be at high risk for the disease at no cost.
The KDHE also added coverage for low-dose CT scans for lung cancer to KanCare.
People are eligible for the free screenings if you are between the ages of 55 and 80, have a 30 year history of smoking, are a current smoker, or have quit within the last 15 years.
