Wichita State University is reporting that 35 students have tested positive for COVID-19.  The students were tested by the university’s Student Health Services, and the testing has been limited to students who have symptoms or who have a known exposure to the virus.

The university has created a dashboard on its web page www.wichita.edu/covid and it shows that 1,555 students have been tested.   The data does not show testing results from staff, faculty or students who may have been tested off-campus.   They are not required to report positive test results.

Only students who have Sedgwick County as their place of residence will be included in Sedgwick County data.

The university said the data on the site is not an accurate representation of the presence of COVID-19 on campus, and it has a caution against drawing broad conclusions from the data about the prevalence of the virus on campus.
