An improvement project has been completed for a major intersection in Haysville.
A ribbon-cutting was recently held by officials from Sedgwick County, Haysville and the Haysville School District for improvements to the intersection of 55th Street South and Meridian, near Campus High School.
The count and the Haysville School district decided to split the cost of the $435,000 project in 2018. The improvements included turn lanes and sidewalks along with a traffic signal. County commissioner Michael O’Donnell said the project will improve safety for children, parents and other pedestrians who use the intersection.
