Groundbreaking held for new WSU business school

A groundbreaking ceremony brought officials, alumni and donors together at Wichita State University to celebrate a new business school.

Woolsey Hall is under construction on the WSU Innovation Campus, and it will be the new home for the W. Frank Barton School of Business.   The school has been located in Clinton Hall since 1970, and it will move into the new three-level building in mid-2022.

The WSU Foundation has raised close to $31.5 million, and the university will provide the remaining funds for the project.   The building is named for Wayne and Kay Woolsey, who donated $10 million to the project.

Barton School Dean Larisa Genin said the new facility will be a place where students can explore their full potential and ambitions.
