A 42 year old Wichita man was booked into Sedgwick County Jail on a charge of second degree murder after a 40 year old woman died in a hospital from injuries sustained during an instance of domestic violence.
Sedgwick County Sherriff’s deputies were called to a home near 109th Street North and Ridge Road around 9am Friday, and the man initially claimed the woman’s injuries were from an accident.
An investigation concluded the woman’s injuries were the result of aggravated battery.
The case was ruled a homicide after the woman died.
