Kansas corrections officials said Tuesday an inmate at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility has died after testing positive for COVID-19. This is the second death at Ellsworth from the virus, and it’s the ninth resident death in the corrections system.
The resident was moved on October 28th to the Lansing Correctional Facility and its COVID-19 Management Unit. He was then taken to the hospital on October 29th. He was a 76-year-old man with underlying medical concerns that contributed to his condition.
Corrections officials said the man was serving a 176-month sentence for aggravated indecent solicitation of a child and aggravated endangerment of a child.
