A winter storm will bring a mix of rain and snow to south central Kansas, then it will change entirely to snow before ending Thursday.
The Wichita area is expecting rain into the evening hours, and areas to the west will see a transition to snow during the night into Thursday morning. The heaviest snow is expected over central Kansas, where 3 to 6 inches could fall by Thursday. The Wichita area could see an inch or less, with 1 to 3 inches expected in Reno and Kingman counties.
A winter storm warning will be in effect for Barber, Clark and Comanche counties in southern Kansas, with a winter weather advisory in effect for Reno, Kingman and Harper counties.
