The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that happened overnight Friday in Burdett, Kansas.
The first victim was shot around 12:20am Friday at a home, and before deputies arrived at that incident, another call was received regarding a second shooting victim a block away.
Investigators from the Edwards County Sheriff’s Office, Hodgeman County Sheriff’s Office, the Larned Police Department, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal all responded to assist.
The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office requested KBI assistance around 1am following the second shooting.
The victims were a 51 year old man who was taken to a Wichita area hospital where he remains in serious condition, as well as a 30 year old man who was treated and released at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.
