Police arrest man for east Wichita homicide

Wichita Police have arrested a suspect after a man was found dead at an east side home.

Officers responded to a welfare call at 13th and Oliver around 5:40 Wednesday morning. It was reported that a 39-year-old man was laying face down in the middle of the street at the intersection.  He was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, and was treated and released.

Following an investigation, police learned of a man who was possibly injured at a home in the 900 block of North Oliver. When officers entered the home, they found the man dead.   He is believed to be a family member of the suspect.

WPD learned that a fight occurred at the home, and they are still trying to put together additional details of what actually occurred.
