Spirit Aerosystems has begun suspending donations from its political action committee.

The decision was made as a result of the riot and siege of the Capitol building on January 6th in Washington D.C.

Spirit’s Head of Corporate Affairs said in a statement that the company condemns what took place at the Capitol, and that showing support for the actions of those who took part in the mob violence diminishes both “…Democratic norms and the Rule of Law.”

The company said the events on the 6th has forced them to re-evaluate the current political environment before moving forward.

Spirit’s PAC has donated to several candidates who both did and did not object to the electoral college results; from Roger Marshall and Ron Estes, to Jerry Moran and Sharice Davids.
