Sedgwick County Officials announced that the employee who opened a letter addressed to the Division of Finance Department at County Courthouse was released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
The employee noticed an odor and a powdery substance contained within the later. She quickly developed skin irritation and respiratory issues and was transported to the hospital. 3 other county employees are experiencing minor symptoms, but are continuing to work.
The letter received was addressed from the “Moorish Nationale Republic Federale Gobernmete–Societas Republic ea al Maurikanos.”
The FBI is leading the investigation.
