The Kansas Supreme Court heard arguments Monday in an appeal filed by two brothers convicted in the murders of four people at an east Wichita home in 2000.

The court threw out the death sentences for Jonathan and Reginald Carr in 2014, but an appeal filed by the state of Kansas took the issue to the U.S. Supreme Court, which reversed the ruling in 2016.

There were still about 20 remaining issues that had not been decided in the 2014 appeal, so the Kansas Supreme Court heard arguments on those issues, and they have taken the cases under advisement.   A ruling will be issued at a future date, but the court did not indicate when the final opinions would be issued.
