UPDATE:   Wichita police said Wednesday that they are looking into a fifth overdose death that has been reported since July 5th.  The latest death is a 44-year-old woman from Wichita who died at the Bell Air Motel in the 1800 block of South Broadway.

Police said a 38-year-old woman died at the Trail Motel in the 800 block of South Broadway, a 48-year-old woman died at the Bell Boy Motel in the 2000 block of South Broadway, a 56-year-old man was found dead in the 100 block of East Harry, and a 67-year-old man was found dead at the Bell Air Motel in the 1800 block of South Broadway.

The cases are being investigated as suspicious deaths where a drug overdose is a possible cause or contributing factor to the death.  In each case, evidence of crack cocaine use was found at the scene.   The Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center and the Coroner’s Office will determine the actual cause of death.

Police are reminding residents that any narcotic or prescription drug not purchased with a doctor’s prescription at a legitimate pharmacy should be considered unsafe.  The druge could potentially contain Fentanyl or other harmful substances.

Police say if you believe someone has overdosed on Fentanyl, you should call 911 immediately, administer naloxone (Narcan) right away if it’s available, and start rescue breathing.

Anyone with information on the sale or illegal use of any drug is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.  People needing help with drug addiction should call Sedgwick County COMCARE Addiction Treatment Services at 316-660-7550
