The Barton County Sheriff’s Office said that information from a local Facebook page led to a man’s arrest for child solicitation.

They said they became aware of an attempted unlawful solicitation of a child after being contacted by the organization “Motor City Justice.” Upon further review, investigators determined a sting operation as the best course of action.

At 5:30 p.m. on October 20th, detectives conducted the operation near the intersection of 24th and Washington in Great Bend. The suspect arrived at the scene believing he was meeting a juvenile female. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident.

The 24 year old man was transported to the Barton County Jail and booked on charges of indecent solicitation of a child, attempted exploitation of a child, and electronic solicitation of a child.
