Salina man sentenced for robberies at ATMs

A man from Salina has been sentenced for robbing a man and forcing him to withdraw money from several locations.

32-year-old Robert Shepherd will serve a total of 125 months in prison, for the robberies and and other cases he’s been sentenced for. Codefendant, 33-year-old Chad Rico, of Tescott, was sentenced last week to more than 22 years in prison on related charges.

These robberies happened in September of 2020, when Shepherd pulled a gun on a man and robbed him, then forced him to make cash withdrawals from several ATMs and gas stations. As part of his sentence, Shepherd was also ordered to pay  $1,276.84 in restitution.
