A Coffeyville man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years for first-degree murder in a 2019 shooting death in southeast Kansas.

20 year old Benjamin Job Mason II, of Coffeyville, was sentenced Tuesday in Montgomery County District Court.

Mason pleaded no contest to the charges on December 20th, 2021, for his role in the 2019 shooting death of Kimberly Meeks in Independence. The case was investigated by the KBI, Independence Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff and U.S. Postal Inspectors.
