Wesley Healthcare relaxes visitor policies as COVID cases decline

Wesley Healthcare officials said Wednesday they are relaxing visitor policies at their facilities in the Wichita area, as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to decline statewide.  The new visitor policy will go into effect at 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 10th.

The new policy will allow for two visitors per patient on all inpatient units at Wesley Medical Center and Wesley Woodlawn Hospital, as well as Wesley West ER and Wesley Derby ER.   Because of high patient numbers, the emergency rooms at Wesley Medical Center and Wesley Woodlawn will allow only one visitor per patient at this time.

Exceptions to the policy may be allowed for circumstances like religious visitation, end-of-life situations and and others.  The exceptions will be granted on a case-by-case basis.

Visiting hours at Wesley Medical Center and Wesley Woodlawn Hospital remain the same, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, and no visitors under the age of 12 are allowed.
