A 41-year-old man is hospitalized after being shot Thursday morning, near Maple and Seneca.
Wichita officers were called to 400 block of South Walnut, around 3:30 a.m., after reports of gunshots. A 911 caller then reported someone was breaking into their car and had been shot by their husband.
Officials say a 29-year-old heard noises outside of his home and found the 41-year-old man under his truck. The 41-year-old reportedly got out from under the truck and moved toward the 29-year-old while using a cordless saw. That is when the 29-year-old fired, hitting the older man. His injury is described as not life-threatening.
An investigation is ongoing.
