Former Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay has announced his candidacy for sheriff in his home state of Minnesota. He plans to run for St. Louis County Sheriff in this year’s elections.
The current St. Louis County Sheriff is retiring, and two other candidates have announced for the office.
Ramsay stepped down March 1st as Wichita Police Chief after six years in office. Before that, he had served as the police chief in Duluth, Minnesota.
Ramsay has been in law enforcement for 29 years, and before leaving Wichita he said he wanted to continue working in law enforcement.
