Sedgwick and surrounding counties are under another Red Flag Warning and Wind Advisory today.
Most of central Kansas is under the Red Flag Warning today, with most of western Kansas under at least a High Wind Warning. Some parts of far northern Kansas are also under a Blowing Dust Advisory. Dust has been showing up on radar as it moves through western Kansas. Central parts of the state could see visibility impacted by dust late this afternoon.
The Wichita area’s fire danger is rated as extreme today. It drops to very high for Friday, then down to just high for the weekend. The fire danger will return and is forecast to be very high by Tuesday.
State firefighting resources are in place to help fight any large fires that break out. Since any fire could easily spread out of control, you’re urged to report any fires you see.
