Reno County Authorities Need Help Finding Armed Robbery Suspects

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on an armed robbery.

The incident happened on April 5th. Deputies responded around 8:40 p.m. The sheriff’s office said the female victim reported that she driving northbound on K-14 when she was flagged down by a white female. The woman told the victim that her car had broken down and that she needed a ride home.

Authorities said the suspect behaved as if she was sick and need help walking. As the victim assisted her, she was approached from behind by a second suspect who placed a gun at the back of her head.

The victim was then told to get back into her vehicle, and both suspects demanded the contents of her purse and jewelry. She reported being battered by both suspects during this time. The victim reported that several cars passed during and after the incident.

The suspect vehicle is described as a small, four door, older model, light colored passenger car. The vehicle was last seen going northbound on K-14 Hwy.

The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s assistance regarding any similar occurrences involving individuals attempting to flag people down, adding that this likely would not be the first time the suspects attempted this type of robbery.

If anyone saw a black SUV with out of state tags and the suspect vehicle stopped in the northbound lane of K-14 Hwy around 8 miles south of Crupper’s Corner, you are encouraged to call the Reno County Sheriff’s Office at (620) 694-2735 or Reno County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
