Officials in eastern Kansas said a two-year-old child died Sunday after being found inside a hot car.
The Osage County Sheriff’s Office said the child was found in a car at a home in Scranton. The child was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
No other details have been released. Investigators said it’s not believed that the child was left in the car, but they believe the death was heat-related. An autopsy has been ordered.
